In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful, I am pleased to welcome you to the new digital home of the Saudi Health Information Management Association (SHIMA) the leading national organization advancing health information management and clinical coding in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Since its establishment in 2009, SHIMA has served as a cornerstone of the healthcare sector: developing professional standards, enhancing the quality of health data, and building national capacities in health information management. We have always believed that accurate, timely, and well-governed health information is the backbone of an integrated and advanced healthcare system and that belief now sits at the centre of the Kingdom's healthcare transformation under Vision 2030. Today, SHIMA enters a new chapter, one made possible by the national institutional framework that empowers Saudi non-profit organizations to grow beyond membership societies into national reference institutions. The National Center for the Non-Profit Sector (NCNP), established by Decision No. 459 in 2019 as an independent entity directly linked to the Prime Minister, is the Kingdom's enabler for the development of the non-profit sector. Its mission is to organize and activate non-profit organizations, foster their development, facilitate government licensing, and oversee financial and administrative governance is one of the flagship initiatives of the National Transformation Program under Vision 2030. The Center's vision is to be an enabler for the development of a non-profit sector with local and global impact, and its mandate reaches across education, health, culture, and research the very fields in which specialized associations like SHIMA operate. Through its governance, licensing, and capacity-building framework, the NCNP empowers professional associations to evolve from member-only bodies into generators of national knowledge and providers of expert advisory services. What the national strategy describes as becoming a Body of Knowledge and a Consulting Firm. In alignment with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) a key NCNP partner — and the broader national initiative enabling specialized healthcare associations to take on this expanded role, SHIMA is transforming accordingly: from a membership society into a national reference institution that generates, curates, and disseminates the knowledge the sector relies on, and that offers expert advisory services to providers, payers, regulators, and partners. This new chapter is delivered through a rebuilt digital platform designed around our members. The new SHIMA website is a modern, mobile-first experience faster, clearer, and member-centred. It consolidates our standards, publications, events, committees, and partnerships into a single navigable home, with dedicated portals for members, learners, partners, and the public. It is built to be accessible, inclusive, and continuously updated a living reference rather than a static brochure. SHIMA Academy is our new digital learning platform, the professional development arm of the Association. It hosts our accredited curricula, bootcamps, webinars, and credentialing pathways, including the Professional Credentialing Scheme (PCS). Members can browse, register, learn, sit assessments, and receive their certificates online, with a transparent record of continuing professional development aligned with national accreditation requirements. My SHIMA Page is the personal member portal a single, secure space where each member manages their profile, membership status, PCS points, certificates, event registrations, committee participation, and payment history. It is designed to be user-friendly, self-service, and continuously connected to the member's professional journey, so that membership is not a card in a wallet but a living, digital relationship with the Association. The new digital membership experience extends the same principle across the whole member journey: online registration and renewal, digital membership cards, event booking, voting in General Assembly matters, and access to exclusive resources, all from any device, in Arabic or English, with the security and privacy our members expect. Through these platforms, and under the enabling framework of the NCNP and SCFHS, SHIMA aims to play a vital role in supporting healthcare transformation, by promoting innovation, improving the efficiency of healthcare professionals, contributing to a data-driven healthcare system for strategic decision-making, and serving as a trusted national consulting body for the institutions that shape the sector. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to and supported SHIMA's journey, our members, volunteers, board members, scientific committees, and strategic partners, and the national institutions, led by the NCNP and the SCFHS, whose enabling vision makes this next chapter possible. Together, we will continue working toward achieving our goals and serving our beloved nation for a healthier future. May Allah grant us success.
